Colour photograph, from a collection of Mr Sandford. of the Earls Cross, Dornoch, possibly 15th century, said to be a march stone separating church lands from those of the Earl of Sutherland and to identify a market place. There is a legend that it is the site of a battle fought c 1245 between the first Earl of Sutherland and marauding invaders.
