Extracts from the writings of John Mackay born in Acheileach, Rogart 25 Oct 1822 (died 1906), summary version of 12 single sided pages compiled from various documents, listed on the final page, by David Mackay of Inverness in 1989. The document has a cover page taken from Issue 2 of 'The Crofter - A Monthly Record for the People - Knowlege is Power', issue dated 1885 which had a pen and ink drawing of John Mackay with inscription "John Mackay CE, Hereford" At the foot of this page the compiler has added the inscription "From Whom We Have Come, John Mackay, Hereford 1822-1906 Railway Contractor, Highland Land Reformer, Shoulder to Shoulder". The text pages are in dot-matrix style computer printer font with central page numbering.
