The script at the bottom of the cover indicates issued under the patronage of the Covention of Royal Royal Burghs and County and City Councils. It provides a record of the facilities and services offered by local authorities in Scotland with a total of 144 pages, plus 47 additional pages of fascinating advertisements. The advertisements include some artwork and monochrome photographs. There is an alphabetical list providing a buyers guide of materials at the end of the book.
