Letter from the publisher concerning the advance distribution of a copy of the Book entitled 'Air Raid' (2009_092_01) The letter dated 27th June 1938 indicates a book publication date of 7th July, with acomplementary national programme to be broadcast 9.40 to 10p.m on July 6th on the subject of Spanish air raids and their lessons for the ARP (Air Raid Precautions). The letter highlights that "this is the first book to base a study of ARP on the technical experiences of recent air warfare", with the author conducting first hand investigation of the methods of attach and defence used in the Barcelona air raids, particularly those of March 16th, 17th and 18th 1938 and "we consider that his evidence is of paramount importance in planning the defence of London and other cities against air attack".
