'Deid Bell' used to annouce deaths

'Deid Bell' dating from 17th or 18th century used to make announcements, especially about deaths. Embossed lettering around the top part of the bell 'Dornoch' and makers mark. (see also 2001.337 showing a bell in use by the town crier and 2004.180 with details of rubbings of the lettering of this bell)
