Dornoch Historylinks Image Library

More About This Site

Dornoch Historylinks Museum is a Registered Charity No. SCO 08747

The Dornoch Historylinks Image Library was launched on 1 June 2008 with start-up funding for the project provided by the Dornoch Heritage Society. The aim of the image library is to provide public access to images and basic details of the complete catalogue of objects in the museum collection.

At launch the image library contained 4,000 images approximately 60% of the catalogued objects. With matched funding provided by Museums Galleries Scotland the museum embarked on a project to enhance library images and to complete the backlog of image capture, by photography and scanning, for the full museum collection to be available on this site. The project was completed by the spring of 2009.

To date the site has 10220 images.

Historylinks Museum gained VisitScotland 5 Star Museum status in September 2009, the only independent museum in the Highlands and one of seven museums in Scotland awarded 5 Star grading. The Museum also gained Museums Libraries Archives Council accreditation in autumn 2009.
