The Historylinks Image Library
There are 11197 pictures on the site and 825 comments.
The Dornoch Historylinks Museum Image Library provides access to the museum object collection, with brief details extracted from the museum catalogue. The 'groups' menu provides shortcut access to photograph albums and collections of associated pictures. Once an album or collection has been selected, the 'previous next' facility can be used to 'turn the page'.
When viewing images you can leave your own comments using the form at the foot of each page. In this way we hope to verify information and add data to the museum catalogue. We are particularly interested in comments adding background information, any refinement of dates and corrections to our catalogue description.
All comments are subject to approval prior to their publication. If you wish to alert us to a typographical or other simple correction and do not wish this to appear as a published comment on the image page, please mention this when submitting your comment. We will investigate and correct where necessary and unlike other comments submitted your report will not appear on the website.
Any general comments, not related to a specific image page, can be sent to Historylinks Museum by using the 'Guestbookâ tab or, if preferred, by e-mail to enquiries@historylinks.org.uk
Historylinks acknowledges that the copyright of many images in the museum collection rests with the originator or publisher. Our current acquisition forms for objects and digital images, signed by donors, address rights to display images. All images displayed are for the purposes of illustrating the extent of our collection, they are of insufficient file size for quality reproduction and should not be copied. If you have any issue regarding copyright of any image please contact Historylinks Museum.
As part of the museum acquisition and cataloguing process, portable document format (pdf) files are produced for other than bound documents added to our collection. An image of the first page of a document is included on this website and, in some cases, if the pdf file is less than 4 MB, the full document is made available for access using the link directly below the object description. On application to the museum ( enquiries@historylinks.org.uk ) pdf files of larger size may be made available, copyright permitting, for a reasonable donation to cover administrative costs.
